Track Team Ready to Compete at All-Atlantic Regionals

The Alfred State track & field team will head to St. John Fisher tomorrow (5/19) and Thursday (5/20) to compete in the All-Atlantic Region Championships. The Pioneers are one of 50 colleges that could send athletes to compete.

The Pioneer duo of Marina Miketish (Olean) and Emma Taggart (New Windsor, MD) are two of the 11 competitors in the heptathlon. Miketish, who broke the school record in the event earlier in the season, enters the event with the 4th highest total (3,623 points) while Taggart has the 5th highest total (3,574 points).

Sarah Rivet (Waterford/Shenendehowa) will ranked 15th in the 400 hurdles. She enters competition with a season best time of 1:09.69.

On the men's side, the 4x400 relay team is seeded 7th. The team of Corey Seymour (Dryden), Brian Clark (Bethpage), Shawn Rosa (Middletown), and Cameron Chambers (East Rochester) combined to finish in 3:25.04

Dylan Perlino (Holland) is ranked 6th in the discus (46.14 m) and 16th in the hammer throw (47.88 m), Jesse Johnson (Horseheads) is ranked 7th in the high jump (1.95 m), Cameron Chambers is ranked 10th in the 800 m (1:56.67), Nathan Chambers (East Rochester) is ranked 14th in the hammer (48.03 m), and Zach Rudewicz-Nepokroeff (Williamsville East) is ranked 20th in the long jump (6.62 m).

Action begins on Wednesday at 1 p.m. and continues on Thursday at 11 a.m.
