Pioneers Compete vs. Monroe CC & Buffalo State

The Alfred State swimming team battled Monroe CC and Buffalo State on Saturday in Rochester. 

Casey Hopkins (Hamburg) won the 100 back (1:02.64) and was 3rd in the 200 free (2:04.65) to lead the way for the Pioneers.  

The 400 free relay team of Hopkins, Kyle Sporysz (Cuba Rushford), Alex Ciolek (Orchard Park), and Josh Stellrecht (Oakfield Alabama) finsihed 3rd in the 3:45.59.

Danielle Roberts (Lockport) was 2nd in the 100 free (1:05.6) and 3rd in the 50 free (29.93).  Sabrina Dunning (Cuba Rushford) was 3rd in the 10,000 free (14:01.00).

In team scoring, Alfred fell 153-43 to Monroe CC and 156-40 to Buffalo State on the men's side while the women fell 123-30 to Monroe and 158-30 to Buffalo State.

The blue & gold have the next two weekends off but return to action on Nov. 22 when they compete in the North Country Invitational at Potsdam.
