Swim Team Finishes 7th at North Country Invite

The Alfred State swimming team finished 7th in both the men's and women's competition at the North Country Invitational at Potsdam.  The women scored 37 points while the men score 29 points.

The Lady Pioneers scored points in the 400 medley relay and the 200 free relay with 6th place finishes.  The relay team of Christy Dodd (Windsor), Maggie McBurney (Jamesville Dewitt), Danielle Roberts (Lockport), and Sabrina Dunning (Cuba Rushford) same the 400 medley in 5:17.10 and the 200 free relay in 2:01.42.

McBurney also earned points with a 12th place finish in the 400 IM (6:20.36).

On the men's side the 400 medley relay team of Alex Ciolek (Orchard Park), Josh Stellrecht (Oakfield Alabama), Kyle Sporysz (Cuba Rushford), and Casey Hopkins (Hamburg) finished 6th in 4:22.84.

Stellrecht was 8th in the 1650 free (20:27.07) while Hopkins was 9th in the 200 back (2:13.75) and 12th in the 100 free (52.76) to earn points for the Pioneers.

The blue & gold have the Thanksgiving week off but return to action on December 6th at the three day Monroe CC Invitational.
