Pioneers in National Rankings

After an impressive start at the Brockport Early Season Invite a couple of Alfred State Track and Field athletes are ranked nationally and in NYSCTC for their performances.  

Desmond Chambers (Rochester/Gates Chili) is ranked 23rd in the nation and 3rd in the NYSCTC for his 7.21 time in the 60 meter dash.  Jordan Friedman (Clarkstown South) is ranked 33rd national in the pole vault and 1st in NYS with a leap of 4.10 m while Leandro DelRosario (Brooklyn/Thomas Edison) is ranked 35th nationally in the shot put and 2nd in NYS with a throw of 13.43 m.

The 4x200 relay is ranked 3rd in NYS with a time of 1:34.51.  Chambers teamed with Zack Woodard (South Jefferson), Josiah Thomas (Rochester/Marshall), and Friedman.

The 4x400 relay team of Woodard, Thomas, Logan Phillips (Genesee Valley), and Chambers is ranked 18th nationally with a time of 3:32.91.

The Pioneers return to action on January 18th when they compete at the RIT Invitational.
