Pioneers Compete at NYS Multi

Three Alfred State athletes completed action at the NYS Championship Multi event at RIT on Monday.  Sarah Wise (Avoca) finished 10th in the heptathlon while Skyler Saxton (Scio) was 11th and Ryan Seward (Pembroke) was 14th in the decathlon.

Wise's total of 2,620 points is the 6th best in program history.  She scored a day high of 575 points with a time of 2:37.31 in the 800 m.

Saxton scored 4,656 points in the ten events of the decathlon.  In day two action, Saxton scored a high of 547 points in the 1,500 m (5:02.06).

Seward finished with 3,743 points. He scored 497 points in the 1,500 (5:11.19) and 424 points in the javelin (38.78 m).

The Pioneers head to St. John Fisher on Friday and Saturday to compete in the remainder of the NYS Championships.
