Thomas Earns NYSCTC and Alfred State Honors

Sophomore Josiah Thomas (Rochester/Marshall) has earned the New York State Collegiate Track Conference field athlete of the week honors along with being named the Alfred State athlete of the week.

Thomas registered a leap of 14.07 m in the triple jump to claim the runner-up spot at the Hamilton College Invitational on Saturday.  His performance ranks him #7 nationally and #5 in the ECAC.

Thomas also finished 2nd in the long jump (6.36 m) and was part of the 4x200 relay team that finished 2nd and qualified for th ECAC's (1:33.78).  The 4x200 relay's performance was the 2nd best in school history.

Alfred State returns to action this weekend when they compete in the Brockport Invitational.
