Chambers honored by NYSCTC and Alfred State

Sophomore Desmond Chambers (Gates Chili) has been named the New York State Collegiate Track Conference field athlete of the week and the Alfred State athlete of the week.

Chambers jumped to the top of the rankings in the ECAC on Saturday when he won the long jump competition.  His leap of 7.14 m (23'5.25") won the competition at RIT, qualified him for the ECAC Championships, and propelled him to the top of the rankings in the ECAC.  His distance also is 2nd best in NCAA Division III thus far this season.

Chambers was also part of the Pioneers 3rd place 4x200 relay team.

Chambers and the Pioneers head to Hamilton College this weekend to compete on Saturday.
