Alfred State and SUNY Canton were scoreless for the first 73 minutes before the Kangaroos scored three goals in the next 12 minutes to earn the 3-0 victory.
Jose Menedez scored on a lunging header in the 74th minute, Hunter Mowery scored on a header after a corner kick in the 81st minute, and Edward Malinoski scored on a rebound in the 86th minute for Canton. Menedez finished the day with a goal and an assist.
SUNY Canton held a 26 to 12 shot advantage in the contest. Austin Lamay made fives saves for the Roos while Kenneth Allport (Hilton) made 11 saves for the Pioneers.
The Pioneers are back in action as they return to Pioneer Stadium to take on Penn State Beaver at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
