Porter Named USCAA All-American & All-Academic

Alfred State senior Mitchell Porter (Alfred Almond) has been named a honorable mention USCAA All-American and a National All-Academic team member following a successful season for the Pioneers.

Porter scored three goals and registered three assists on the season. He found the back of the net in a 2-0 victory over Penn College, a 3-2 loss to Houghton, and a 6-3 victory over SUNY Delhi. He collected two assists in a 3-3 tie with Penn State Beaver.

For his four-year career Porter scored 22 goals and passed out 10 assists. In his freshmen season, the college's last year in the NJCAA, Porter scored ten goals and had four assists. His best offensive season in the NCAA era was his junior year (2014) when he scored five goals and had two assists.

Porter is the first Alfred State men's soccer player to earn All-American honors from the USCAA.

On top of his impressive on the field credentials, Porter has excelled in the classroom. He was named to the National All-Academic team for the third straight season. The sport management major holds a 3.62 GPA.
