Pioneers Race Past Davis

Four different Pioneers scored as Alfred State raced past Davis College on Saturday afternoon, 8-0. The blue & gold scored four goals in each half to earn their third victory of the season
Tyler Landries (Genesee Valley) got the Pioneers on the board in the 3rd minute with his first of three goals of the day. Kyle Jones (Wilson) picked up the assist. Shane Joyce (West Irondequoit) scored five minutes later after getting a pass from Jones to make it 2-0.
Jones found the back of the net in the 14th minute while Landries capped the 1st half scoring in the 20th minute after getting a pass from Joyce.
Joyce netted his second of the day in the 47th minute before Brandon Holley (Livonia) scored in the 49th and 66th minutes. Landries capped his hat trick with the Pioneers final goal in the 69th minute. Markus Ernest (Alfred Almond) was credited with the assist.
The Pioneers outshot the Falcons 30 to 4 in the contest. Kenneth Allport (Hilton) and Jacob Bartz (West Seneca) each made a save to combine for the shutout.
The Pioneers head down the road to Houghton on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. contest with the Highlanders.
