Pioneers Offense Explodes in Victory over Delhi

Six different members of the Alfred State men's soccer team found the back of the net as the Pioneers defeated SUNY Delhi 6-2 on Friday afternoon. The Pioneers are now 4-10-1 on the season.
Antonio Fleming (Floral Park) got the Pioneers on the board in the 14th minute after getting a pass from Jacob Palumbo (Cherry Valley). Kory Zimmer (Livonia) made it 2-0 in the 24th minute after getting a pass from Brandon Holley (Livonia). Markus Ernest (Alfred Almond) made it 3-0 heading into half with a goal in the 31st minute assisted by Kyle Jones (Wilson)
The Pioneers and Broncos traded goals in the 2nd half. Tyler Landries (Genesee Valley) scored in the 54th minute, Trevor Holdridge scored for Delhi in the 57th minute, Mitchell Porter (Alfred Almond) socred in the 58th minute, Fredric Marcel scored in the 67th minute, and Jones capped the scoring in the 83rd minute.
The Pioneers outshot Delhi 14 to 11 on the day. Kenneth Allport (Hilton) made 11 saves for Alfred State.
The blue & gold are back at it on Sunday when they travel to SUNY ESF for a 2 p.m. contest.
