Eight Spring Pioneers Earn USCAA All-Academic Honors

Eight Alfred State spring athletes have earned USCAA All-Academic team honors. Student-athletes earn All-Academic honors by being an upperclassmen who has earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher over the course of their academic career.
Alfred State Moves to Year Three of NCAA DIII Process

The NCAA DIII Membership Committee recently announced that Alfred State has satisfied the requirements of year two of the membership process and will move on to year three in 2016-17.
Kruger Named All-American
May 16, 2016
Alfred State junior shortstop Stormi Kruger (Medina) has been named an USCAA All-American for the third straight season. Kruger was a honorable mention selection and becomes the first Pioneer student-athlete to earn All-American honors from the USCAA three times.
Softball Closes out Season

The Alfred State softball team fell 6-2 and 12-3 to Hilbert on Friday afternoon as the Lady Pioneers closed out the 2016 season. Wet and chilly conditions at Pioneer Park led to sloppy play.
Lady Pioneers Tripped up by Houghton

Houghton College swept a doubleheader from Alfred State at the Kerr Pegula Athletic Complex. The Highlanders earned 7-2 and 3-2 victories on a frigid evening.
Kruger, O'Keefe, and Barber Have Big Offensive Days

Stormi Kruger (Medina), Lura O'Keefe (Allegany Limestone), and Melissa Barber (Nassau/Catholic Central) had big offensive days vs. Medaille on Monday. The Mavericks picked up 28-12 and 17-11 victories to improve to 16-12 on the year.
Saints Take Two from Pioneers

St. Lawrence took both games vs. Alfred State in a Sunday afternoon doubleheader at Pioneer Park. The Saints won the opener 9-0 and then won a 8-7, eight inning contest.
Pioneers and Roos Split

Alfred State and SUNY Canton split a Saturday afternoon doubleheader at Pioneer Park. The Kangaroos won the opener 2-1 while the Pioneers won the nightcap 10-5.
Big Innings Hurt Lady Pioneers

Nazareth used big innings to sweep Alfred State in a doubleheader on Thursday afternoon. The Flyers used a eight run 2nd in the first game en route to a 11-2 win and a six run 5th inning in the nightcap en route to a 13-1 victory.
Lady Pioneers Fall at Elmira

The Alfred State offense could not get the clutch hit in game one and then was held to just one hit in the nightcap as Elmira earned the sweep on Wednesday afternoon. The Eagles won 3-1 and 8-0 to improve to 7-11.
Lewis Collects Four Hits vs. Canton

Kelsey Lewis (Johnson City) collected four hits for the Alfred State in a doubleheader at SUNY Canton on Saturday afternoon. The Kangaroos won a back and forth 10-7 decision in the opener and used a seven run 5th inning in a 11-3 victory in the nightcap.

The Alfred State softball team lost a hard fought doubleheader at Pitt-Bradford on Thursday afternoon. The Panthers won the opener 6-5 with a run in the bottom of the 7th and shutout the Pioneers 4-0 in the nightcap.
Offense Struggles vs. Geneseo

The Alfred State softball team was limited to just seven hits in a doubleheader vs. Geneseo on Tuesday afternoon. The Knights earned 4-0 and 10-1 victories.
Lady Pioneers Split with Delhi

The Alfred State softball team split a doubleheader at SUNY Delhi on Sunday afternoon. The Broncos took the opener 14-4 while the Pioneers won the nightcap 12-3.

The Alfred State home softball doubleheader vs. St. Lawrence has been postponed for Saturday. The two teams are still working on a make-up date.
Lady Pioneers Fall in Wild Extra Inning Contest

Alfred State and Penn College battled in a 3 hour 14 minute marathon that featured 39 runs, 28 hits, 36 walks. The Lady Pioneers scored three runs in the 7th to tie it at 14-14 before the Wildcats scored nine in the 8th en route to a 23-16 victory.
