Nichols Named Athlete of the Week

Alfred State freshman wrestler Codie Nichols (Unatego) has been named the Alfred State athlete of the week.  Nichols was 3-0 at the Alfred State duals on Saturday and is now 17-13 on the season.

Nichols was one of seven Pioneers that 3-0 at the Alfred Duals.  Nichols pinned Karsheen Azeem from Albany in 4:44 to open up the day, defeated Lucas Baker from Cobleskill 11-0, and the pinned Kyle Parella from Cortland Club in 1:34 to complete his day.

The Pioneers picked up three victories on the day defeating Albany 59-0, Cobleskill 57-6, and Cortland Club 43-0.

The blue & gold will travel to the University of New Hampshire on March 1st to compete in the NCWA qualifiers.
