Lady Pioneers Blank Roos
The Alfred State women's soccer team blanked SUNY Canton 4-0 behind Kali Muhleisen's hat trick on Sunday afternoon. The Lady Pioneers improve to 3-1 on the year while the Lady Kangaroos fall to 3-2.
Muhleisen was part of all four goals for the blue & gold. She scored in the 12th minute after getting a nice lead pass from Ally Vargeson (Addison). She made it 2-0 in the 18th minute when she took advantage of a misplayed ball and found the back of the net.
In the 2nd half, Taylor Reisdorf (Warsaw) made it 3-0 in the 54th minute when she scored after a Muhleisen shot was saved by the Roos goalie. Muhleisen completed the hat trick in the 61st minute after getting a long lead pass from Hannah Holmok (Alfred Almond).
The Pioneers held a 26 to 6 shot advantage on the game. Krista DeCarlo (West Islip) made three saves to earn the shutout.
Alfred State hosts Keuka College on Wednesday evening starting at 6 p.m. at Pioneer Stadium.
