Lady Pioneers Roll Past Cazenovia

Five different Lady Pioneers scored as Alfred State defeated Cazenovia 7-0 on Wednesday evening.  The blue & gold are now 4-2 on the season while the Wildcats fall to 4-3.

Kali Muhleisen (Alfred Almond) scored twice in the first 13 minutes to get the Pioneers going. She scored at 6:00 after getting a long lead pass from Hannah Holmok (Alfred Almond).  At 13:00 Alexis Flint (Arkport) connected with Muhleisen on a lead pass that she put in the right corner of the net.

Hunter Pierce (Livonia) made it 3-0 in the 38th minute after getting a great set-up pass from Chelsea Dunn (Newfane).  Dunn received the corner kick from Keri Teufel (Holbrook).

Flint made it 4-0 under two minutes into the 2nd half after putting in a rebound of a Muhlesien shot.  Holmok found the back of the net on a long shot that found the top right corner to make it 5-0 in the 57th minute.

Taylor Dziuba (Warsaw) scored the two final goals in the 67th and 69th minute to cap the scoring.

Alfred State held a 31 to 4 shot advantage.  Krista DeCarlo (West Islip) recorded her second shutout of the season with four saves.

Muhleisen finished with two goals and an assist, Dziuba had two goals, and Flint and Holmok had a goal and an assist.

The Lady Pioneers head to Hilbert College on Saturday for a 3 p.m. battle with the Hawks.
