Women’s Track and Field Compete at Cortland Red Dragon Open

The Alfred State women's track and field team competed at the Cortland Red Dragon Open on Saturday.

Emma Taggart (New Windsor, MD/Francis Scott Key) is sitting in first place in heptathlon after four events. She leads with 2569 after winning high jump (1.56m) and shot put (10.78m) and coming in second in the 100-meter hurdles (15.81) and 200-meters (28.91). She is now 9th on the Alfred State All-Time list for shot put.

Taggart will wrap up the rest of heptathlon on Sunday.

Sarah Rivet (Waterford/Shenendehowa) finished 3rd in javelin with 21.75, was 4th in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:11.23 and 6th in the 200-meters in 28.25.

Nicole Hume (Alexander) threw 39.61m in hammer and is now 4th on the Alfred State All-Time list.

Hume finished 5th in hammer and shot put with 10.11m and was 7th in discus with 30.53m.

Madison Snayczuk (Machias/Pioneer) finished 3rd in long jump with 4.89m and was 4th in triple jump with 10.24.

The 4x400-meter relay of Madeline Cole, Katherine O'Buckley, Annaliese Hersom and Laura Ferris finished 5th in 4:52.79.

Laura Walter (Lancaster) finished 5th in pole vault with 2.31m which puts her 8th on the Alfred State All-Time list.

The Pioneers will compete next at Brockport on Friday, April 15.
