Hume, Snayczuk Lead Women's Track and Field at CSAC Championships

The Alfred State women's track and field team competed at the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championships on Saturday in Alfred, N.Y.

Nicole Hume (Alexander) had an impressive outing, winning in both the discus and hammer throw. Hume threw 33.56m in discus while throwing 39.05m in the hammer throw.

The Pioneers swept the top four places in triple jump with Madison Snayczuk placing 1st in 10.69m, Sarah Daunce (Clifton Springs) placing 2nd in 10.30m, Lily Schnell (Olean) placing 3rd in 9.86m, and Laura Walter (Lancaster) placing 4th in 9.71m.

Emma Taggart (New Windsor) placed 3rd in the discus with 30.52m and Mackenzie Gillette placed 7th with a throw of 22.41m. Gillette also placed 6th in the hammer throw in 22.24m.

Summer Kier (East Rochester) placed 3rd in the 10000-meters run with a time of 53:30:27, while Annaliese Hersom (Bergen) placed 4th in 55:34:81.

Walter placed 6th in pole vault with a jump of 2.15m and Gillette placed 7th in 2.00m.

Laura Ferris placed 5th in 1500-meters in 5:51:53.

In the 100-meters, Madeline Cole (Homer) qualified with a time of 13.21, Snayczuk in 13.50, and Leilani Sloan (Rochester) in 13.95.

Qualifying for the 200-meters are Cole in 27.61, Taggart in 27.54, and Sloan in 28.95.

The Pioneers will wrap up the CSAC Championship tomorrow starting at 10 a.m.
