The Pioneers Men's And Women's Track And Field Programs Are Set To Join The SUNYAC Next Season

Syracuse, NY- Alfred State will be joining the SUNYAC as associate members for Men's and Women's indoor and outdoor track and field beginning in the 2024-25 competition year.

The Athletic department is excited about their men's and women's track & field programs finding a home in the state of New York. This transition will allow both programs to compete against other top SUNY institutions for league championships in years to come.

Athletic Director Jason Doviak added, "Alfred State College is grateful for the opportunity to join the SUNYAC for indoor and outdoor track & field".  Doviak also said "This completes our longstanding goal to provide conference championship opportunities for all of our athletic programs and student-athletes. We look forward to competing against our fellow SUNY institutions and appreciate the support of the SUNYAC Presidents, athletic directors and the commissioner."

Head Coach Tim Giagios had this to say, "The landscape of the SUNYAC may be changing a little, but the quality of Track & Field is still high. The SUNYAC has always produced some of the top Track & Field athletes regionally and nationally. This move will help us in recruiting and offering a competitive conference meet both indoors and outdoors. I'm excited for us to compete at conference championships against many of the teams we see throughout the year."

The Pioneers will compete in their first conference championship in February of 2025 when they participate in the SUNYAC Indoor Track Championships.
