The Alfred State Athletic Department is excited to announce the 2024 Hall of Fame Class.

 

The 2024 Hall of Fame inductees are:

Catherine Bialecki: Women's Basketball

Jeromie Feuchter: Football / Track & Field

Kay Pfleghardt: Volleyball

Aaron Williams: Baseball

Rasheed Williams: Football

John Anderson- Contributer

Pat Fogarty- Contributer

1994 Men's Soccer Team

 

Bialecki was a three-year member of the Women's Basketball team from 2015-18.

During her career, she garnered USCAA Player of the Year honors, and ACAA First-Team All-Conference honors. She scored 1,141 points at 18.4 points per game, while grabbing 674 rebounds at 10.9 rebounds per game.

 

Feuchter was a two-year member of the Football and Track and Field team from 2001 to 2002.

In 2002, he won Offensive Lineman of the Year, and was the Top Offensive Lineman of the Mick Caba era in Pioneer football history. Also in 2002, he was All-Region in both indoor and outdoor track and field. During the outdoor season in 2002, he became a NJCAA National Champion in the Hammer Throw.

He went on to Eastern Michigan to finish his college career.

 

Pfleghardt was a member of the volleyball team from 2012-16.

Pfleghardt is currently the all-time kills leader in Pioneer history. She was the first Pioneer to reach 1000 kills and 1000 digs. Her career totals were 1262 kills and 1142 digs, she averaged 3.36 kills per set. Pfleghardt garnered AVCA All-American honors throughout her career.

Looking at her Pioneer achievements she was the team MVP three times, Senior Athlete of the Year award winner, and took home two Pioneer Awards.

 

A. Williams was a two-year member of the baseball team from 2000-02.

Williams tallied an 18-14 career record and a 3.23 career ERA. He pitched 21 complete games, three shutouts, while tallying 200 strikeouts. 

He was an All-Region Pitcher in both years he played. He was also Alfred State's Most Valuable Pitcher twice. Following his Alfred State career, he signed as a free agent with the Minnesota Twins.

 

R. Williams was a two-year member of the football team from 2014 to 2015.

Williams racked up over 2,688 total yards and 26 touchdowns. He holds all of Alfred State's individual games, single season, and career rushing records. Williams tallied 200 plus yards in five games, including games with 335 yards and 313 yards.

The NFL and Houston Texans held a Pro Day for Williams on campus. Following his Alfred State career, Williams was signed by the Detroit Lions and a CFL team.

 

John Anderson served as the College President from 2008-2013. Anderson was instrumental in the Athletic Department's transition from a two-year model to a four-year model.

Anderson served more than 11-years as a professor of chemistry and physics at Alfred State (which began in 1981), he also served as chair of the Faculty Senate at Alfred and was convener of statewide SUNY Local Governance Leaders. In between Dr. Anderson's years as an Alfred State professor and his presidency, he held several senior-level administrative positions within the college including the roles of vice president of student services, dean of student development, vice president of institutional advancement, and provost and vice president for academic affairs. In those roles, he developed a diversity of new degree programs and established the office of Institutional Advancement for which he developed and implemented a major gifts program and annual fund campaign. Then, during his tenure as provost, the college saw significant enrollment growth, and he enabled the college to raise more than $2.3 million for a variety of academic projects including the establishment of a manufacturing training center.  He served as President from 2008-2013 and then returned to Alfred State in 2021 as Officer in Charge while the college was searching for its next President. Throughout Anderson tenure he was present at most athletic events home or away.

 

Pat Fogarty was Appointed Alfred State College Council Chair in 1993. Fogarty was a huge supporter of Alfred State Athletics and could be found at almost every home athletic contest. Fogarty also had a long history of civic activity and served on the boards of the Allegany County United Way, Southern Tier Traveling Teachers, Catholic Charities of Buffalo, and on the Bishop's Council of the Laity for the Diocese of Buffalo.

She earned numerous honors, including the Alfred State College President's Medallion in 2012 and the Alfred State Outstanding Service Award in 2001. Fogarty also received many outside awards, which include the NYS Bar Association Pro Bono Award (Allegany County) in 1993 and an award from the Committee on Women in the Courts & the Local and Specialty Bar Association of the Eighth Judicial District in 2011.

 

1994 Men's Soccer Team was led by head coach Dan Gorham

The team finished the year 18-2-1, earning a NJCAA Region III Division I Championship. They started the year 15-1 and set a single season goal record of 78 goals midway through the season. The team ended the year ranked eighth in the nation.
