Scott Joins Football Staff

Anthony Scott has joined the Alfred State athletic department and will serve as the offensive line coach for the football team and the equipment room manager.  Scott has been coaching in the college ranks since 2006.

Scott, a four-year member of the football team at Georgia Southern, was part of two NCAA I-AA National Championship teams (1999 & 2000) as a right tackle and center.  His teams also was Southern Conference Championship four straight seasons.

Scott most recently was the offensive line coach at Augustana College (Rock Island, IL).  He was also the assistant video coordinator, the academic coordinator, and a faculty member in the health and phsyical education department.

Prior to Augustana, Scott was an offensive line coach at St. Agustine's College (Raleigh, NC), Lenoir Rhyne University (Hickory, NC), and Brevard College (Brevard, NC).

Prior to coaching in the college ranks, Scott was an assitant football coach and history teacher at East Forsyth High School (Winston Salem, NC).

Scott holds a bachelor's degree in broadcasting from Georgia Southern and a master's degree in coaching education and recreation and sport science from Ohio University.

Scott is a member of the American Football Coaches Association and has been active instructor at summer camps including the Hawg Tuff Football Camp, the Sports International Football Camp, and the O-D Football Camp.

On top of his football coaching duties, Scott will be in charge of the ordering and maintaining all the equipment for the athletic department.
