Phalen Honored by USA College Football

Alfred State junior Keegan Phalen (East Aurora) has been named the USA College Football Special Teams player of the week.  Phalen was a key contributor in all fascets of the Pioneers 41-14 victory over Hudson Valley CC.

Phalen was 2 for 4 in field goals (42 & 23) and was five for five in extra point attempts.  He also punted four times with one punt downed inside the 20.  Phalen also averaged 50.9 yards per kickoff.

Defensively, Phalen recorded a team high 13 tackles (nine solo and 2.5 were for a loss of 29 yards). He also broke up two passes and forced a fumble.

Phalen also got in the act in offensively completing a pass for 19 yards and catching a pass for 26 yards.

Phalen was honored with Michael Behr (Ottawa), Darius Hicks (Morningside), and Joel Grafel (Hastings) as the Small College Division Players of the Week.
