Phalen Honored by USCAA

Alfred State junior football player Keegan Phalen (East Aurora) has been named the USCAA special teams player of the week. Phalen punted 11 times in the Pioneers 2013 opener.

Phalen punted for 434 yards on the day (39.5 yards per punt).  He had a long of 61 yards and placed one inside the 20. On top of his punting duties, Phalen recorded four tackles (two solo and one for a loss) and on pass break-up.

Kameron Harris of Lindenwood-Belleville was named the USCAA Offensive Player of the Week while Kurt Joseph was named the Defensive Player of the Week.

The Pioneers travel to Concordia (MI) University this weekend for a 1 p.m. kickoff with the Cardinals.
