Pioneers Fall to Nazareth

Nazarth College received solid efforts down low from Brad and Mitch Ford as they combined for 41 points as the Golden Flyers defeated Alfred State 74-52 at the Orvis Activities Center on Thursday evening.

Brad Ford led all scorers with 22 points and 11 rebounds while Mitch Ford finished with 19 points and eight boards.  Scott Hayford and Jack Mulcahy each finished with nine points while Jack Giles passed out 11 assists.

Adam Fezza (Southhampton) led the blue & gold with 11 points while Tavon Moore (Syracuse/Bishop Grimes) came off the bench and finished with eight.  Tommy Hutson (Brooklyn/Susan McKinney) chipped seven.

Nazareth shot 47.5% for the game and connected on eight 3-pointers.  They held a 38-27 advantage on the boards and forced 13 Pioneer turnovers.

Alfred shot 40.4% from the floor and 38.5% (5 for 13) from three.  The Pioneers led early but never held the lead after the first couple minutes.

The Pioneers host Central Penn College on Saturday at 3 p.m.
