Wildcats Trip up Pioneers

The Wildcats of Penn College shot 50% from the field and held a 53 to 35 rebounding advantage as they defeated Alfred State 95-74 on Wednesday evening.

Penn College shot 48.6% from the field in the 1st half and connected on seven 3-pointers as they raced out to a 50-34 lead.  The Pioneers never got closer than 13 points in the 2nd half.

Thomas Ross led four Wildcats in double figures with 16 points.  James Boylan added 14, Nathaniel Brown 11, and Marquis Delgado 10.

Adam Fezza (Southhampton) led the Pioneers with 15 points off the bench while Tavon Moore (Syracuse/Bishop Grimes) finished with 13.  Rob Adams (Jasper Troupsburg) finished with 11 and Thoams Stein (Caledonia Mumford) finished with 10.

The Pioneers shot 38.2% from the field (4 for 23 from 3-point land) and were forced into 20 turnovers.

The blue & gold return home on Saturday when they battle SUNY ESF.  The Pioneers and Might Oaks battled earlier in the season with ESF winning 96-95 in a double OT thriller.
