Cardinals Down Pioneers

Four different Cardinals found the back of the net as St. John Fisher defeated Alfred State 4-1 on Wednesday evening. Fisher improves to 3-7-1 on the year while Alfred State is now 4-6.

Bryan Rollins got Fisher on the board just 3:30 into the game after getting a pass from Matthew Kaiser. Kaiser made it 2-0 just under seven minutes later when he took the ball and muscled his way to the net.

Tyler Landries (Genesee Valley) cut the lead to 2-1 in the 37th minute when he capitalized on a penalty kick. With just 1:18 remaining in the 1st half, Matt Soos gave the Cardinals back their two-goal cushion with a goal after getting a long lead pass from AJ Klemczak.

Tyler Randall added an insurance goal 6:11 into the 2nd half to cap the scoring.

Alfred State held a 12 to 9 shot advantage on the game.

The Pioneers wrap up a five game homestand on Saturday when they host SUNY Delhi at 2:30 p.m. at Pioneer Stadium.
