Pioneers Shutout by Nazareth

Nazareth scored three goals in a span of 12 minutes in the 2nd half to break a scoreless tie en route to a 3-0 victory over Alfred State on Tuesday afternoon.

The Pioneers and Flyers were scoreless for the first 64:55 of the contest. Nazareth got on the board when Christopher Rowland sent the Flyers first and only corner kick of the contest into the box and found the head of Ben Garcia. Rowland found Lucas Bennett twice in a span of 23 seconds in the 77th minute to put the game out of reach.

Both teams fired 15 shots in the contest. Nate Ripic made seven saves to record the shutout for Nazareth. The Pioners had eight opportunities on corner kicks.




The Pioneers are on the road again on Thursday when they travel to Erie, PA to battle Penn State Behrend for a 7 p.m. start.
