Penn College's Lauren Herr scored with 4:54 remaining to lift the Wildcats to a 3-2 victory over Alfred State on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats improve to 3-1-1 on the year while the Lady Pioneers fall to 3-3.
Alexis Trkula got Penn College on the board just 1:44 into the game after getting a pass from Christina Weber. Melissa Mineti (Livonia) netted her – goal of the season to tie it up in the 20th minute.
9:36 into the 2nd half the Wildcats regained the lead when Hailee Hartman scored after getting a pass from Olivia Murgo. Stormi Kruger (Medina) tied it up under four minutes later when she scored for the second straight game after getting a pass from Mineti.
Herr scored the game-winner at 85:06 when she headed in a pass from Caitlin McCarthy.
Alfred State held a 15 to 13 shot advantage in the contest.
The blue & gold are back in action tomorrow at Noon when they battle at Lycoming.
