Lady Pioneers Roll in USCAA Finale

Six different Lady Pioneers scored and 12 recorded points as Alfred State defeated SUNY Delhi 8-1 to conclude play at the USCAA National Championships. The Lady Pioneers conclude the season with a 9-8 mark.

Dannielle O'Buckley (Queens/Anbach) got the Lady Pioneers on the board 7:33 into the contest after a free kick by Chloe Clox (Tuscon, AZ). O'Buckley netted her second of the day in the 23rd minute after getting a pretty pass from Darien Hooker (Canisteo Greenwood). Melissa Minetti (Livonia) scored just under five minutes later to make it 3-0. Taylor Dechow (Randolph) picked up the assist.

Katie Herba scored with 3:01 remaining in the 1st half and Delhi kept the pressure on early on in the 2nd half before the blue & gold exploded for five goals in less than a 13 minute span. Brooke Geibel (Arkport) scored from Julia Yanarella (Roy Ketcham in the 73rd minute, Kylie Newman (Waverly) scored from Stormi Kruger (Medina) in the 76th minute, Geibel scored from Jocelyn Brittingham (Hornell) in the 80th minute, Yanarella scored from Newman in the 84th minute, and Jenna Martin (Salamanca/Cattaraugus Little Valley) capped the scoring in the 86th minute.

Alfred State outshot Delhi 30-12 in contest. Allison Danielak (Brockport) made seven saves in net to record the victory.

The Lady Pioneers were making their 4th straight trip to the USCAA National Championships.
