Kruger and Jackson Honored by USCAA

Sophomore shortstop Stormi Kruger (Medina) and junior outfielder Katie Jackson (Troy, PA) were both recently honored the USCAA. Kruger was named an honorable mention All-American and Jackson earned National All-Academic honors.

Kruger, a 2nd team USCAA All-American in 2014, started in all 36 games for the Lady Pioneers this season. She hit .339 (37 for 109) with six doubles, two triples, and three home runs. She scored 27 times and had 23 RBI on the season. She finished the year with a .514 slugging percentage and a .385 on-base percentage.

Kruger had multiple hits in 11 games this year. Her best statistical contest of the year came vs. SUNY Delhi. She finished the doubleheader 5 for 8 with 5 RBI and two home runs. 

This follows a freshmen season in which she hit .512 (42 for 82) with 18 RBI.

Jackson earned All-Academic honors for the second straight season. She holds a 3.81 GPA in Technology Management. To be honored by the USCAA a student-athlete must be in at least their second year of competition and hold a 3.5 GPA or higher. 

On the softball field, Jackson hit .325 (37 for 114) with 25 runs scored from her leadoff position in the batting order.

The Lady Pioneers finished the season 12-24 including a 11-13 record in their final 24 contests.
