Delhi Takes Tight Contest

SUNY Delhi won a tight contest, 79-74, over Alfred State on Saturday afternoon.

Alfred State led for most of the 1st half. They led 16-12 after the 1st quarter and 39-33 at half. Delhi outscored ASC 24-18 in the 3rd quarter to send the game into the final quarter knotted up at 57-57. The game went back and forth the rest of the way and Delhi was able to hit five of eight foul shots down the stretch to seal the game.

Myah Fox (Arcade, NY / Pioneer) led the way with 25 points and 11 boards. Taylor Benjamin (Newark Valley, NY/Newark Valley) finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Calesta Reigelman (Johnson City, NY / Johnson City) added 12 points, five boards, and four assists.

Francesca Vassilakos led Delhi with 19 points while Aniyah Jones added 18 points. 

The Pioneers are back on the court on Monday when they host Utica at 5:30 p.m.
