Avallone Named AMCC Player of the Week

Alfred State first basemen Matteo Avallone (Mahopac/Bridgton Academy) has been named the AMCC Player of the Week. Avallone collected hits in each of the Pioneers six games this past week and is currently on a seven game hitting streak.

Avallone finished the week 11-for-24 with a .457 batting average and and .519 on base percentage. He collected six doubles, two homers, and drove in 12 runs while scoring seven of his own. In conference play (four games), he hit .412 with five doubles, a homer, and eight knocked in. Avallone was 3-for-9 with five RBIs in a DH vs. Medaille and 4-for-8 with three RBI in a DH vs. Mt. Aloysius.

On the year, Avallone is hitting .367 with 11 doubles, one triple, four homers, and 24 RBI. He has scored 18 times, has a .622 slugging percentage and a .451 on-base percentage.

The Pioneers have three doubleheaders on the schedule this week. They travel to Penn State Behrend (Wednesday), host LaRoche (Saturday), and play at Fredonia (Sunday).
