Strong 2nd Half Lifts Maritime

Maritime outscored Alfred State 54 to 32 in the 2nd half to lift the Privateers to a 93-66 victory in day one action at the RIT Tournament. Maritime shot 50% from the field and 50% beyond the three-point line in the contest.

Brendon Halligen was 6 of 10 from beyond the three point arc to lead the Privateers with 22 points. Maritime finished the day 12 of 24 from three and 32 of 64 for the game. John Liccese came off the bench and had 13 points. 15 different players scored for Maritime.

Tommy Hutson (Brooklyn/Susan McKinney) and Dan Gormley (Masapequa/St. Anthony's) each had 11 points for Alfred State. The Pioneers shot 47.8% from the field and was 9 of 18 from beyond the three point arc but was slowed down by 26 steals.

The Pioneers wrap up play at the RIT Tournament tomorrow when they take on D'Youville at 3 p.m.
