Strong Second Half Pushes Pioneers Past Panthers

Alfred, NY- Alfred State men's basketball remains perfect at home in conference play with a 80-78 victory over Pitt-Bradford. The Pios move to 7-7 on the season and 5-2 in conference play.

Cody Schneider led ASC with 22 points, eight rebounds, and six rebounds. Ryan Rosa added 19 points, while Paris Jamison scored 15 points and six assists. Michael Miller also scored in double figures with 14 points.

 The game started with some back-and-forth action, but Panthers put together a small run to go up 31-22 with three minutes left in the half. Back-to-back layups from Jamison cut the lead down to five and the Pioneers went into halftime trailing 31-27.

The Pioneers outscored the Panthers in the second half 53-47, as Dylan Perry opened the half with a three. Then Rosa tied the game with a layup. The game stayed tied until Jamison put in a layup and Scheider followed with a three, 46-41. From there the Pioneers went back and forth for the lead with the Panthers until a late jump shot by Miller put them up 79-76. The Panther would score another layup, but the Pioneers hung on to win 80-78.
