Four Pioneers Score In Double Figures As Pioneers Roll Past Hawks

Alfred, NY – Alfred State men's basketball team's hot shooting propels them to a 108-95 victory over Hilbert. The Pioneers move to 9-9 on the season and 7-4 in conference play.

Cody Schneider led Alfred State with 34 points, six rebounds and six assists. Michael Miller set a new career-high with 27 points and Paris Jamison added 24 points.

Schneider started the Pioneers' hot first half with a mid-range jumper.  Suffocating defense and big shot making gave Alfred State a 38-15 lead with 8:18 remaining following back-to-back three-pointers from Schneider. He shot 7 of 13 from 3-point range. The Pioneers lead grew to as much as 28 and they took a 58-36 lead heading into the half.

More of the same would continue for Alfred State in the second half. Miller hit his 4th of 5 three-pointers to extend the lead 78-58. Hilbert slowly made a run to cut the lead to 9, 97-88, with 3:02 remaining but Jamison put an end to it after his second steal of the game. Late game free throws from Dylan Perry and Ryan Rosa sealed the game for the Pioneers and they won 108-95.

The Pioneers are back in action on Saturday, January 27th as they hit the road to Greensburg, PA and face the Bobcats of Pittsburgh-Greensburg.
