Baseball Assists Local Little League

The Alfred State baseball team spent a Saturday morning assisting the Alfred Almond Community Sports Association.  35 players and coaches spent the three hours working on various projects.

The Pioneers assisted in painting the concession stand, tilling both the softball and baseball fields, and picking rocks and debris out of the newly expanded soccer fields.  A group of players also moved cement blocks and roofing materials at the Alfred Station Fire House baseball field.

Jen Smith, A-ACS baseball commissioner appreciated the time and effort of the players.  "These volunteers made a significant difference to the safety and quality of each field location.  They represent the finest of student athletes led by a hardworking and generous head baseball coach."

The Alfred State baseball team starts their 2014 season on March 1st when they take on the Apprentice School.
