Wheaton Named USCAA All-American
Junior shortstop Jordan Wheaton (Wayland Cohocton) has been named a honorable mention USCAA All-American after a solid campaign. Wheaton led the Pioneers in nearly every offensive category.
Wheaton led the Pioneers with a .384 batting average. His 48 hits, 32 runs, 16 doubles, four triples, 35 RBI, and 15 stolen bases were team highs. Wheaton finished the season with a .600 slugging percentage and a .452 on-base percentage.
Wheaton collected hits in 29 of the Pioneers 36 games. He had a 11-game hitting streak that stretched from April 3rd to April 18th. On the season he had 14 multiple hit games (season high four hits in a victory over Houghton College) and eight multiple RBI games (season high 4 RBI at Medaille and at Houghton).
Wheaton is the first Alfred State baseball player to be honored with an end-of-season award by the USCAA. He is the 6th Pioneer athlete to be named All-American by the USCAA during the colleges first year as a member of the organization.
