The Alfred State baseball team fell 17-7 to West Virginia Tech in game three of their weekend series on Sunday. The Pioneers could not overcome 14 walks and five errors on the day.
The Pioneers were held to just eight singles on the day. Jordan Wheaton (Wayland Cohocton) finished the day 1 for 5 with 3 RBI.
WV Tech collected 14 hits including five doubles. They used the big inning scoring five in the 2nd and four in the 5th.
The blue & gold have a week off before opening up play at the RussMatt Invitational in Davenport, FL next Sunday. The Pioneers battle Beloit (WI) in a doubleheader starting at 9 a.m.
