Van Fleet Named NCAA Statistical Champion
Alfred State freshman defensive back Rylie Van Fleet (Maine Endwell) has been declared the NCAA Division III statistical champion for pass breakups per game. Van Fleet is the first Pioneer to be on top of a statistical category during the NCAA era of Alfred State athletics.
Van Fleet accumulated 22 pass breakups and one interception on the year to go along with 51 tackles. He had a season high five breakups in the home victory over Castleton and four at Gallaudet. He had at least two breakups in seven games including a streak of six straight games to end the season.
Van Fleet had earlier been named to the All ECFC 1st team.
