Men's Basketball: 2-2

The men's basketball team was 2-1 this past week. They defeated Wells 84-67 and then split a pair of games at the Alfred Tournament, lost 84-73 to Bryant & Stratton - Buffalo and defeated Bryant & Stratton - Rochester 69-53.

Kevin Goode (Rochester/Bishop Kearney) led the team with 44 points on the week (8 three-pointers). Tahaij Lewis (Rochester/Greece Olympia) had two big games this week and finished with 43 points and 39 rebounds. Josh Reding (Rochester/Spencerport) added 34 points, Owen Spencer finished with 27, and Marcus Rhett (Middletown) chipped in 24. 

The Pioneers shot 45.7% from the field, connected on 26 three-pointers (36.1%) and held a 124 to 110 advantage on the boards.

Women's Basketball: 3-1

The Pioneers ran their winning streak to three games with a pair of victories this past week. They defeated Wells 78-57 and Oswego 70-64.

Rayanna Anderson (Wellsville) led the team with 30 points (4 three-pointers) while Janae Gibson (Bronx/Pelham Prep) had a big week with 29 points and 26 rebounds. Kelsey and Skylar Shaulis (Ovid/South Seneca) both finished with 22 points this week while Emily Benes (Buffalo/Mount Mercy) finished with 20 points and 15 rebounds. Emily Kelley (Wellsville) recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 boards in the contest vs. Oswego.

The blue & gold shot 40.2% from the field, connected on 11 three-pointers, and outrebounded their opponents 94 to 72. 

Men's Swimming & Diving: Men: 1-3, 1-1 AMCC

The men's swimming team won 11 of 14 events as they earned a 173-76 victory over Penn State Altoona on Saturday afternoon.

Tim Olin (Perry) and Ethan Dale (Lock Haven, PA) both won three individual events to lead the way. Olin won the 50 back (29.09), the 100 fly (1:00.05), and the 100 back (59.93) while Dale won the 50 breast (30.00), the 100 breast (1:05.68), and the 200 IM (2:11.41). Austin Eckrich (Rochester/Churchville Chili) and Nate Miller (Gananda) each won two events. Eckrich won the 1,000 (11:20.37) and the 500 free (5:24.47) while Miller won the 100 fly (1:00.05) and the 100 free (55.20). The Pioneers also took 1st in the 400 free as a team of Olin, Miller, Ryan Brophy (Midlakes), and Dale won in 3:40.08.

Women's Swimming & Diving: 3-1, 2-0 AMCC

The women's swimming team won all 14 events as they defeated Penn State Altoona 161-22 on Saturday afternoon. 

Jessie LaRue (Livonia) was a triple event winner on the day. She won 50 free (25.92), the 100 back (1:06.11), and the 200 IM (2:24.28). Kathryn Lewis (Niagara Wheatfield), Sarah Stevens (Wellsville), Payton Armstrong (Highland Mills/Monroe Woodbury) all won two events on the day. Lewis won the 1,000 free (12:11.84), the 200 free (2:14.50), Stevens won the 50 breast (36.59), the 100 breast (1:19.99), and Armstrong won won the 100 fly (1:13.67) and the 50 fly (30.87). Julia Urbina (Nesconset/Smithtown East) won the 50 back (33.42), Elizabeth Furmanski (Albion) won the 100 free (1:02.83), and Alina Kisluk (Hamburg) won the 500 free (6:01.97). The 400 medley relay team of Samantha Towner (Wayland Cohocton), Hannah Snayczuk (Machias/Pioneer), Armstrong, and Elizabeth Jurs (Elba) won in 4:51.42 to start the day while the 400 free relay team of Lewis, Furmanski, Snayczuk, and Towner ended the day with a victory in 3:40.08.
