Pioneers Record Seven Top-8 Finishes

The Alfred State women's track & field team continued their outdoor season on Saturday at the St. John Fisher Cardinal Classic. The Pioneers recorded seven top-8 finishes.

The 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams both finished 3rd. The 4x100 relay team of Alyssa Delany (Hornell), Marina Miketish (Olean), Laura Walter (Lancaster), and My'ana Davis (Greece Athena) finished in 52.42 while the 4x400 relay team of Madeline Cole (Homer), Sarah Rivet (Shenendehowa), Laura Ferris (Victor/Mercy), and Miketish finished in 4:33.80.

Cole registered the top individual performance with a 5th place finish in the 100 m dash (13.64). Emma Taggart (New Windsor, MD) and Chivonna Reed (Fairport) tied for 6th in the high jump. Both cleared a height of 1.48 m.

Rivet was 7th in the 400 hurdles (1:12.68) and Delany was 7th in the triple jump (10.38 m.).

The Pioneers will head to Geneseo next Saturday in their last meet before the CSAC Championships.
