Taggart Leads Way as Pioneers Compete at Geneseo

The Alfred State women's track & field team performed well in their final tune-up before the CSAC Championships. The team recorded nine top-8 finishes at the Geneseo It's Gonna Be May Meet.

Emma Taggart (New Windsor, MD) was 2nd in the high jump (1.57 m). Taggart was also was 4th in 100 hurdles (15.78) while teammate Alyssa Delany (Hornell) was 5th (16.23).

My'ana Davis (Greece Athena) was 5th in the 400 (1:01.92), Summer Kier (East Rochester) was 5th in the 5000 (24:16.12), Katie Watkins (Addison) was 5th in the steeplechase (13:25.40), and Marina Miketish (Olean) was 5th in the javelin (25.20 m). Sarah Rivet (Waterford/Shenendehowa) was 6th in the 400 hurdles (1:09.69)

The 4x100 relay team of Delany, Miketish, Chivonna Reed (Fairport), and Davis was 4th in 51.53

The Pioneers head to LaPlume, PA next week for the CSAC Championships.
