Walks Cost Pioneers

Sewanee drew fourteen walks as they defeated Alfred State 17-1 on Monday afternoon.

The Pioneers came out of the bat early taking a 1-0 lead after the top half of the 1st inning when Cullen Franz (Cazenovia) singled home the lone RBI.

Sewanee responded with four runs of their own in the bottom half of the 1st and never looked back. Sewanee tacked on three more in the 4th, four in the 5th, two in the 6th, and four more in the 8th. 

Pioneers were led offensively by Franz. He went 2-4 at the plate with the lone RBI.  Patrick Ball (Tonawanda) and Ryan Hierlwimmer (Livonia) each contributed one hit a piece.

The blue and gold will have the day off tomorrow and will be back in action Wednesday, March 18th when they take on Southern Vermont in Winter Haven, FL. at Lake Myrtle.
