Remington Named USCAA Pitcher of the Week

Alfred State pitcher Jake Remington (Letchworth) has been named the USCAA pitcher of the week. Remington is the first spring athlete to earn USCAA honors in 2015.

Remington, a 6'2'' 200 lb. transfer from St. John Fisher, threw a complete game three-hitter as the Pioneers defeated NCAA DII St. Michael's 6-2 last Friday afternoon in Florida. He used a great mix of pitches to keep St. Michael's hitters off balance all day. Remington didn't allow an earned run in his seven innings of work while walked just one and striking out six batters.

On the year, Remington is now 1-1 in three appearances for the Pioneers. He has pitched 14 innings, with a 3.21 ERA, allowing 15 hits, five earned runs, four walks, and has struck out 15 hitters.

Remington and the rest of the Pioneers will be back in action Sunday, March 29th, when they take on Monroe Community College in a doubleheader in Rochester, NY. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m.
