Bathgate Wins 5000-Meter, Pioneers Finish Seventh at Brockport
The Alfred State men's track and field team finished seventh overall at the Brockport Multi & Invitational on Saturday.
Gavin Bathgate (East Rochester) won the 5000-meters in a time of 15:44.14 which puts him fifth on the Alfred State All-Time list.
The 4x400-meter relay of Derek Walter (Lancaster), Brian Clark (Bethpage), Kyle Brown (Dryden) and Shawn Rosa (Middletown) took second with a time of 3:39.67.
Walter placed fourth in the 500-meters in 1:15.01 and was fifth in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.40 seconds.
Jesse Johnson (Horseheads) was fourth in high jump with a height of 1.81 (5-11 ¼) and took eighth in the 60-meter hurdles in 11.19 seconds.
Esaias Brumfield (Warners/West Genesee) finished fifth in the 60-meters in 7.29 seconds.
Ethan Kuhn (Kendall) was sixth in the 500-meters in 1:15.93 while Brown was eighth in 1:16.59.
Zach Rudewicz-Nepokroeff (Williamsville/Williamsville East) finished seventh in the 60-meters in 7.4 seconds and was tenth in long jump with a mark of 6.18 meters (20-3 ½).
Dylan Perlino (Holland) was 11th in both shot put (12.53 meters (41-1 ½)) and hammer throw (14.08 meters (46-2 ½)).
The Pioneers head to Selinsgrove, Pa. on Saturday, Feb. 12 for the Susquehanna Invitational.
