Pioneers Complete Final Day at AARTFC Championships

The Alfred State women's and men's track and field team competed in the final day of the 2022 All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Outdoor Championships hosted by Moravian University. 

Emma Taggart (New Windsor) completed the heptathlon with 3922 points, finishing 6th overall. Taggart finished 8th in long jump with a mark of 4.67m, 11th in the 800-meters in 2:46.20, and 12th in javelin with a mark of 18.04. 

Dylan Perlino (Holland) finished 8th in the hammer throw with a mark of 52.40m. He has already qualified for the NCAA DIII Outdoor National Championships. 

Jesse Johnson (Horseheads) competed in the high jump, finishing 17th with a height of 1.82m. 

Sarah Rivet (Waterford/Shenendehowa) finished 17th in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:07.86, a season personal record, while Derek Walter finished 22nd in 56.54. 

The 4x100 relay, consisting of Ryan Henderson, Zach Rudewicz-Nepokroeff (Williamsville East), Cameron Howard (Brockport), and Esaias Brumfield (Warners/West Genesee) finished 16th in 43.25, a season personal record. 

Perlino will head to NCAA DIII Outdoor National Championships next on Thursday, May 26.
