Swim Team to Compete at ECAC Championships

The Alfred State swimming team will travel to the Nassau County Aquatic Center this weekend to compete in the ECAC Winter Swimming and Diving Championships. The three day event will feature competitors for 13 different school representing NCAA DI, DII, and DIII.

The Pioneers have numerous swimmers that rank high in the events they are slated to compete in. The top 24 swimmers in each event score.

Tim Berry (Midlakes) – 1st in both 1m and 3m Diving

Bryce Cutler (Newton, NJ) – 10th in Mile, 14th in 400 IM, 16th in 200 Back, and 17th in 200 Fly.

John Paul Holubek (Wayland Cohocton) – 11th in Mile, 19th in 200 Breast, and 25th in 100 Breast.

Zach Russell (Pal-Mac) – 21st in 200 Free, 25th in 50 Free, and 27th in 100 Free. 

Don Piatek (Springville Griffith) – 22nd in 200 Back

Tim Seitzinger (Bel-Air, MD) – 22nd in 200 Fly

Andrew Callaghan (Pal-Mac) – 23rd in 200 Back

Allison Sell (Hanover, PA) – 17th in 400 IM, 18th in 200 Breast, and 19th in 100 Breast, 

Josey Brewer (Letchworth) – 25th in 200 Breast and 26th in 100 Breast

Megan Hendershot (Brockport) – 23rd in 200 Back

Alfred State will compete vs. Adelphi, American University, Arcadia, Baruch, College of Staten Island, LIU Post (women), Manhattan, New Jersey Institute of Technology (men), Pace, Southern Connecticut State, and St. Francis.

Competition starts at 4 p.m. on Friday and runs until Sunday afternoon.
