Nine Straight - Lady Spikers Sweep Hilbert

The Alfred State volleyball team swept Hilbert 25-15, 25-14, 25-22 on Wednesday evening to run their season opening win streak to nine games.

Jessica Padley (Buffalo/Sweet Home) led the Lady Pioneers with 11 kills (only one error). Bryanna Godfrey (Tioga) finished with eight kills and six digs, Madison Szpaicher (Ellicottville) passed out 25 assists, and seven digs, and Madison Webster (Corning) led the team with 12 digs.

The Lady Pioneers connected on 31 kills and hit .253 on the day. The team also collected 11 aces.

Amanda Binder led the Hawks (2-7) with 11 kills while Morgan Ott passed out 21 assists and Victroia Siracuse chipped in eight digs.

Alfred State has won five straight matches 3-0 and have won 27 of the 30 games they have played in 2016.

The Lady Pioneers return to action next Friday when they travel to the Ramapo Roadrunner Invitational. They battle St. Joseph's (LI) and Brooklyn College on Friday and Neumann on Saturday.
