Postseason Honors Roll in for Volleyball
Members of the Alfred State volleyball team have recently received numerous postseason honors. Three members of the team were named USCAA All-American, six were named All-Independent by the Association of Division III Independents, and two earned USCAA All-Academic honors.
Bryanna Godfrey (Tioga), the team leader in kills, has been named USCAA 1st team All-American and 1st team All-Independent. Godfrey recorded 355 kills on the season, 296 digs, and 68 service aces.
Madison Szpaicher (Ellicottville) earned USCAA 2nd team All-American honors, 1st team All-Independent honors, and was named to the All-Academic team by the USCAA. Szpaicher finished the season with 962 assists, 328 digs, 110 kills, and 51 service aces.
Janae Hamilton (Ellicottville) earned USCAA honorable mention All-American honors and 1st team All-Independent honors. She finished the year with 256 kills (team best .370 hitting percentage) and 85 blocks.
Grace Hall (Ellicottville) was named 1st team All-Independent. Hall finished the year with 177 kills, 71 digs, 66 blocks, and 47 service aces.
Jessica Padley (Tonawanda/Sweet Home) and Madison Webster (Corning) were both named 2nd team All-Independent. Padley finished the season with 230 kills, 233 digs, and 41 service aces while Webster led the team with 424 digs and chipped in 44 aces.
Shannon Dwyer (Cutchogue/Mattituck) was named to the USCAA All-Academic team.
The Lady Pioneers finished the season 25-9 and made their third straight trip to the USCAA National Championships.
