Cardona Collects Three Hits in Spring Trip Finale

Robert Cardona (All Hallows) collected three hits as Alfred State fell to Principia 14-3 in the spring trip finale. Cardona collected two doubles and a single to raise his average to .419.

The blue and gold fell behind early in the 1st inning as the Panthers jumped out to a 3-0 lead. They would surrender seven more runs in the 3rd, and one more in the 4th before the Pioneers got on the board in the 6th. Andy Pichardo (Academy of American Studies) would take advantage of a Panther miscue and score on wild pitch for the first run. Connor Odonoghue (Avon) and David Zuber (Honeoye Falls Lima) would each collect a RBI single to conclude the scoring.

Kyle Kuzma (Waverly) was again impressive on the mound out of the bullpen as he tossed 3.2 innings with two strikeouts and just two earned runs. Tsvi Weil (Forest Hills) came in for the final three outs of the game.

Pichardo and Thomas Shofi (Carmel) joined Cardona with multiple hits. Both chipped in two hits on the afternoon

The game concludes the Pioneers spring trip to Myrtle Beach, SC. They will be back in action on March 24th when they travel to Penn College for a double-header starting at 12 p.m.
