Shofi Earns USCAA Honor
Alfred State sophomore outfielder Thomas Shofi (Carmel) has been named the USCAA player of the week. Shofi led the Pioneer offense in a doubleheader at Houghton.
Shofi was 5 for 10 with 3 RBI and a stolen base in the doubleheader vs. Houghton on Wednesday. He collected the game-winning double in the top of the 11th to lift the Pioneers to the victory in game one. He finished the game 3 for 5 with 2 RBI. In the nightcap he was 2 for 5 with a RBI single in the 8th inning.
On the year, Shofi is hitting .396 with a homer and nine RBI.
Shofi is the first spring athlete at Alfred State to earn a USCAA weekly honor.
